A routine evening took a terrifying turn when Sal's wife found him unresponsive in bed. Frantically calling 911, she was guided through CPR by a dispatcher until paramedics arrived. Rushed to the hospital, Sal was diagnosed with three blocked arteries and underwent open-heart surgery. In a moment of uncertainty, Christine urged Sal to show signs of life. Miraculously, he responded, defying the odds and crediting CPR, the dispatcher, and his overall health for his remarkable recovery.
Darci Gillen Dawson was a mother on vacation on Spring creeks when she found a toddler floating by the river not moving at all, that’s when the courageous mother managed to pull the little 18 months old Kaden Sluggett. Seeing that he was not moving, Darci began administering CPR to the baby as the child’s family called 911 services, in the meantime the Gillen family took the baby on their card to Lewistown to meet the ambulance, thankfully the baby was carried as quickly as possible to the nearest Hospital. The heroic mother was given a Life saving award, the first award to be presented to a civilian in 17 years by County Sheriff Tory Eades, “There aren’t a lot of people out there who can pull a small child out from a creek and recognize that he needs CPR, then step right up and start doing it” said the policeman.
