Two Kansas City police officers are gaining national recognition for their heroic actions in saving a one-month-old baby's life when she ceased breathing due to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). After Tajanea Allen's baby, Kamiyah, stopped breathing, Officers Richard DuChaine and Charles Owen quickly performed life-saving CPR. Video footage from a body camera captured the tense moment as the officers resuscitated the tiny, unresponsive newborn. Kamiyah eventually regained consciousness after staying in the hospital for a week due to RSV, which can be particularly severe in infants. DuChaine, who has a premature daughter, could relate to the family's ordeal and was commended by Allen as her hero.
