It all happened in Markleville, a small Madison County community, when a man was the victim of a car crash. It was reported that he was driving on South State Street when he hit a utility pole. That was the chance for a heroic neighbor and trained cardiac nurse who was on the scene, to check the driver for vital signs. Finding none, the good Samaritan began doing CPR maneuvers for two minutes until a pulse was found. EMTs arrive and took the man to the nearest hospital for a prompt recovery.
